What we record when a banner is shown, and why.

What we record

When a banner is displayed or clicked we store: which banner it was, which account displayed it, the placement label you chose in your snippet, the time, and the IP address the request came from. Alongside that we keep the browser's user agent string and the host of the page the banner appeared on.

What we deliberately don't record

We store the referring host only, never the full URL. Publisher page URLs routinely carry query strings with visitor information in them, and that is not ours to keep. We don't set cookies on your visitors, and we don't build profiles of them or track them between sites.

Why we keep it

To count impressions and clicks so credit is allocated correctly, and to detect fraud. An exchange only works if the traffic is real, so we need enough signal to tell a person from a script.

Your account

We keep the details you give us when you sign up so we can operate your account and contact you about it. Write to us via the contact form to see, correct or delete what we hold.
